RULES

This international competition for musicians aims to promote music among young people and to identify and encourage the artistic affirmation of emerging talents.

One of its aims is to help spread and develop an ever greater interest in cultured music which plays an important educational role in civil society

Art. 1

The Competition is open to all musicians from all nationalities

Art. 2 

The Competition is divided into the following sections:

Sect. 1:  Piano (Solo - Piano and orchestra)

Sect. 2:  Strings (solo)

Sect. 3:  Winds (solo and ensemble)

Sect. 4:  guitar, mandolin , tamburitza and all plucked string instruments (solo and ensemble)

Sect. 5:  Piano duet 

Sect. 6:  Chamber music (max 10 members)

Sect. 7:   Harp (solo and ensemble)

Sect. 8:  Singers (Solo and groups)

Sect. 9: Composition

Please respect the execution times of each category. At most, do not exceed more than 1 - 2 minutes.

The section 1 is divided into the following categories:

Cat. Babies Musicians: born from 01/01/2017 free program max 4 min. - Fee € 40.00

Cat. A:  born from 01/01/2013 ; free program max 5 min. Fee € 40.00

Cat. B:  born from 01/01/2010 ; free program max 7 min. Fee € 45.00

Cat. C:  born from 01/01/2007 ; free program max 10 min. Fee € 50.00

Cat. D:  born from 01/01/2004 ; free program max 12 min Fee € 55.00

Cat. E:  born from 01/01/2001; free program max 18min. Fee € 60.00

Cat. F:  no age limit ; free program max 30 min. Fee € 65.00

Cat.G: for piano and orchestra no age limit max. 30 min. - fee € 75,00 (reduction for 2 pianos is also accepted)

Section 5 is divided into the following categories (we refer to the average age of the duet):


Cat. A:  born from 01/01/2009 free program max 8 min. Fee € 30.00 each one


Cat. B:  born from 01/01/2000; free program max 12 min. Fee € 35.00 each one


Cat. C:  no age limit; free program max 20 min. Fee € 40.00 each one


Cat. D Professor/Students born from 01/01/2011 Free program max 10 min. Fee € 35,00 (only student)






Section 6  dedicated to all groups, with or without piano, is divided into the following categories  (we refer to the average age of the group):


Cat. A:  born from 01/01/2008; free program max 8 min Fee €30.00 each one


Cat. B:  born from 01/01/1996; free program max 12 min. Fee € 35.00 each one


Cat. C:  no age limit; free program max 20 min. Fee € 40.00 each one


Groups with more than 5 musicians will pay € 25,00 each one ( to be paid in a single solution)






Section 8 is divided into the following categories:


Cat. A:  Children voices free program max 10 min. Fee € 40.00


Cat. B:  born from 01/01/1996 ; free program max 15min. - Fee € 60.00


Cat. C:  no age limit : free program max 20 min. - Fee € 70.00


Cat. D:  lyrical singer groups - no age limit- free program max 10 min - Fee € 35,00 each one


Cat. E:  band groups with solo voice - no age limit- free program max 15 min - Fee € 10,00 each one ( to be paid in a single solution)

REGISTRATION


This edition will take place online, therefore, to register and send the videos , please follow the following instructions:


• Recordings must be clear and free of background noises, can take place at home or anywhere the competitor has access to a decent piano


• Videos need to be clear in image and perfect in sound.


•The video must be made from a fixed camera (video cameras, mobile phones, tablets as well as with professional recording systems), in a single shot without interruptions and must show the face, the hands of the musician and the entire instrument at all times . It is not allowed any cutting during the exhibition or joining sequences (a single video, therefore, even if you play different pieces).


• Singers Videos must be taken from the waist up. Full body is recommended


• Only audio- recordings will not be accepted.


• Grand and upright pianos are recommended. Digital pianos with 88 weighted keys are also accepted.


• Video recordings that exceed the allowed time will not be accepted.


• Insert, in the appropriate field of the registration form, the link of the video of the preliminary round, published on YouTube and set as 'Unlisted'.






Art. 5


All competitors can participate in several sections and categories by paying the relative participation fee.


Furthermore, always paying the relative registration fee, they can participate in the LIVE competition which will be held from 3 to 12 May 2024 at the "L. Sciascia" Theater in Aci Bonaccorsi.


The pieces to be performed must be original (easier arrangements are not allowed).






On 20 March 2024, on the website: www.amigdalainternationalcompetition.it, competitors videos links will be published.


On 5 April 2024, on the website: www.amigdalainternationalcompetition.it the results of each category and the relative scores will be published , in addition, the registration fees will be refunded to winners of the first absolute prizes 100/100.


Diploma in PDF format will be sent to all competitors to the e-mail address in the application form.


At the end of the competition (May), WINNERS VIDEO will be published on the website: www.amigdalainternationalcompetition.it






REGISTRATION






Art. 6


The jury is made up of teachers from Conservatories and Music Schools, well-known musicians, differently qualified, the Chairwoman of the Cultural Association "Amigdala" and the Artistic Director .


The members of the jury shall abstain from voting in case of kinship and/or having didactic relationship with the competitor either currently or taken place in the two year prior to the competitionIn case of ex aequo in a category , the jury may share the prize equally.
All awards and prizes will be awarded unless there is an insufficient number of eligible participants in a particular category or the judges determine that the quality of the competitor's performance does not warrant a prize/award. .  Please note that the decision of the judges is unquestionable.

The organization reserves the right to make changes or additions to these rulement or to cancel the event.

We consider  First Absolute Prize   who will obtain 100/100


We consider First Prize who will obtain  from 95 to 99


We consider Second Prize who will obtain from  90 to 94


We consider Third Prize those who will obtain from  85 to 89


We consider Fourth Prize those who will obtain from  80 to 84






Candidates awarded from 80/100 to 100/100 will receive a Diploma of Merit


Candidates with a score lower than 80/100 will receive a Diploma of Participation


the diploma in pdf format will be sent to all participants to the e-mail address indicated on the registration form






Art. 9


This cultural event is not comparable to the sweepstakes, as intended by D.P.R.430/2001, art.6 com.1. Therefore, the Resolution n.8/1251 of the 28th October 1976 decides that the prizes will not be income taxed at the source. However,we specify that the final prizes will be added to their personal income and the winners will have to pay own compulsory contributions on the basis of their income tax return.
